Debby Kaspari has created exhibit illustrations for the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, including a large mural on the subject of biodiversity. Besides painting, she designs and develops product lines for United Design, a giftware company in Oklahoma. Debby grew up in Berkeley, California. She studied illustration and graphic design at California College of Arts and Crafts, graduating in 1981. She lives on 10 wooded acres just outside of Norman, Oklahoma, with her husband Mike, an ecology professor. "In my garden I grow a lot of hummer-friendly plants: salvias, penstemons, nepetas, and I hang feeders as well. They attract lots of rubythroats all summer and into the fall. When the season gets late, there can be as many as a dozen hummingbirds at a time, especially at the feeders, where it can sound like a hornet’s nest with all those buzzing wings. With the territoriality of these birds, it’s a good thing they’re so darn cute or we’d be swatting them." To learn more about BWD collector's prints click here.
