  • This Birding Life is averaging 31,000 downloads/month. Our 70th episode, featuring actor/birder Ian Harding, can be played here.
  • Our other podcast, Out There With The Birds, is now on its 18th episode and is experiencing a rapid growth in audience numbers. Since February of this year, monthly downloads of Out There With the Birds have increased at a rate of 66 percent!

The British Birdfair
Bill and I just returned from our annual trek to the British Birdfair. We had a fantastic time visiting with friends old and new, checking out the latest products in birding, learning about fantastic birding destinations and tour operators worldwide, sharing information about the American Birding Expo, and recording a few podcasts on location to share the experience with our Bird Watcher’s Digest audience. It was an inspiring visit for us both as we prepare for next month’s American Birding Expo!

Bird Watcher’s Digest, a bimonthly magazine for birders, was founded in Marietta, Ohio, in 1978 by Elsa and Bill Thompson, Jr. BWD also publishes Watching Backyard Birds for backyard birders. Over the decades, BWD has expanded to include other modes and channels of content creation and distribution: websites, videos, podcasts, blogs, booklets, print and e-books, birding gear, and events, most notably the Midwest Birding Symposium, BWD Reader Rendezvous, and the American Birding Expo.
